BRAD BRICKNELL
About Brad
Brad Bricknell is a former professional surfer and a self-confessed sports lover.
His working career started in South Africa as a marketing coordinator for a long time sponsor after he finished competing professionally. In 2005 he moved to Australia with his wife Caryn to further his career in the action sports industry. Throughout his 18 years in the industry Brad has gained experience in private, public and start-up businesses in the areas of marketing, sales, brand and general management.
After taking a sabbatical with his family late in 2016, Brad started to develop his passion for writing and brand journalism. Seeking a flexible work lifestyle that combined his passion and experience for sport and business, he discovered a need in the Australia/Pacific market to service the action sports industry with a premium online business insights platform, and in June 2017 he founded and launched The Business of Surf digital forum.
Brad still surfs regularly, helps coach his son’s U10 rugby union team and has involvement in Sports Chaplaincy and Surf Coaching/Mentoring at an elite level.
